About Us - Staff Profiles:
Scott Jennens:
After completing a Science Degree at Monash University, Scott worked in the Bureau of Meteorology in NSW for a few years before returning to study his Diploma of Education at Latrobe. Scott has taught a range of subjects including Maths, Geography, Legal Studies, Science, Australian Studies and Outdoor Education in mainstream schools. In addition to classroom duties, at Hurstbridge High and Diamond Valley Secondary College Scott was Daily Organiser, Camps Coordinator, Equal Opportunity Coordinator, Assistant Year Level Coordinator and Student Welfare Coordinator.
Scott joined the Leaps & Bounds team over a decade ago and has been the coordinator since 2000.
Scott lives locally with his partner, Branka, and three children. He spends his spare time reading, camping, sleeping and avoiding maintenance jobs around the house.

Branka Jennens:
Branka attended Monash University and Primary Teachers College for a number of years and came very close to completing a degree or two along the way. During this time she was employed as the weekend cook at a private hospital on the Mornington Peninsula. Branka has been active in the local community through the neighbourhood kinder, primary school and soccer club. She enjoys gardening, cooking, camping and responding the ever increasing demands of her family.
Branka has been employed by Leaps & Bounds on a part-time basis since 2001. Her main role is to support the staff and students through a variety of administrative and organisational tasks. Branka is usually found in the kitchen area at Leaps & Bounds, working with the students to prepare healthy and nutritious meals.

Maurice Perry:
Maurice began teaching in 1976 in a country technical school. He has since worked at a variety of technical and high schools in Victoria and overseas, both as a full time and emergency teacher. His subject areas have been English, Drama, Physical Education, Outdoor Recreation, History and Sociology. During this period Maurice has taken time away from teaching many times to work as a landscape gardener, roof and floor tiler, farm hand, horse riding instructor, bartender, security and cook. 2006 will be his 16th year with L&B. Part of his job at L&B is to manage and promote the Challenge Ropes Course. Married with two children, Maurice lives in Boronia. His passions are literature, environmental and social issues, motorcycling and his family.

Lynden Bobbitt:
After finishing a degree in fine Art at RMIT , Lynden spent many years working as an artist and photographer, community artist and set designer. Working alongside a variety of community groups developing art projects and facilitating art work, Lynden decided to pursue teaching and undertook a Graduate Diploma of Education at Hawthorn Institute of Technology. Her interests along the way have included performing, singing and exhibiting her own art work. |

Glenn Werkmeister
After a break of six years, 5½ years as Assistant Principal at Mt Evelyn Primary School and six months as Coordinator of the Primary Student Development Centre, Donvale, Glenn is back as a teacher at Leaps and Bounds. Glenn worked at Leaps and Bounds from 1989 to 2000, as a teacher and then as coordinator. Glenn’s teaching career also included 5 years at Croydon Community School and 8 years at Doveton High School.
Glenn has taught in a variety of subject areas, including Maths, Science, Chemistry, Biology, Human Relationships, Health Education, Social Skills, Conflict Resolution, Anger Management and Drug Education. He has provided counseling and mediation to many of his students.
Glenn is married with two grown up daughters. He enjoys going to movies and the theatre. He takes a keen interest in most sports and especially loves playing cricket, football, table tennis and going bush walking. He is a passionate Melbourne supporter. |
